Drowned in Danmei

As written in the title, yes. I've been into Danmei lately. Basically danmei is similar to Yaoi a.k.a Boys Love (BL). Correct me if I'm wrong coz I'm pretty new to this. Not super new. But definitely not pro hahaha.

During college years, it's very popular to copy anime from friend's hardisk. So one day le friend gave me Yaoi anime called Gravitation. I guess that's my earliest encounter towards BL world. If you know that yaoi anime then I guess we are similar in age lol.

Anyway, it doesn't have big impact since it's hard to differentiate gender inside an anime. As you can see, the pink-haired character resembles a girl. Minus boobs of course LOL. That's why I just watch it with ease like how i watch other romance anime.

Didn't really watch lots of BL anime. But somehow along the years I did watch several other BL anime. To name a few that I can remember : Junjou Romantica, Love Stage!!, Hybrid Child, Dakaretai Otoko 1-i ni Odosarete Imasu, Super Lovers (only S1), Sekaiichi Hatsukoi and Yuri!!! On Ice.

Then I think around few years ago I accidentally came across one Donghua called Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation (Mo Dao Zu Shi) and I'm HOOKED! Tbh I didn't realize that it's an adaptation from a BL novel. Till I go and google on it right after I finished watching the anime hahaha. And that time I was so happy coz soon enough they released the live action version.

At first I was skeptical since the ML didn't really resemble the anime character. Turned out I was wrong. I really liked how Xiao Zhan acted inside the drama. I thought I would be bored watching it since I've already know the whole storyline considering that I've watched the donghua version. Again I was wrong. I enjoyed the drama version as much as I love the donghua version. I cried several times. You watch then you know.

Guess my love for it runs deep till I promoted it to my bro. Of course without informing him beforehand that it's actually adapted from a BL novel. HAHAHAHA. Sure enough he watched the entire drama and loving it. Only then I revealed to him that it's BL related *insert smug smiles here lol

If you wanted to try watching BL but can't accept anything super BL at the moment then this drama is the best choice. It's called The Untamed (Chén Qíng Lìng). I assure you it only felt like bromance in this drama. Just like the closeness between Gong Yoo and Lee Dong Wook in K-Drama Goblin. 

Not long after that, I was once again treated to another BL drama that is also considered as subtle. But this time with more BL content. At least got tiny skinship HAHAHAHA. Yes. It's none other that Word Of Honor.

This drama got me so obsessed with Gong Jun. Guess he shines so well in this drama. Compared to his other drama I've seen before this. Bless the drama, his acting and the visual team hahaha.

In fact I was really looking forward to the next BL drama from China called Immortality (Adapted from the web novel "The Husky and His White Cat Shizun"). Unfortunately good things doesn't come that often. Apparently the drama follows up the novel that much that it doesn't pass censorship in China. So oh well. Let us just all pray that one day it'll get pass through censorship. If not then maybe just publish it online? *hopeful

PLS PLS PLS released the drama already. I really love the cast chosen for this drama so much that I imagined them as I read the novel lololol. Bless whoever chose the cast for the ML of the drama. Both Chen Fei Yu and Luo Yun Xi resembles what I pictured in mind!

Apart from China, Thailand also came out with a few of BL dramas which I enjoy these past years. One of it is called 2gether: The Series. Very sweet I tell you! Please notice that Thai is more open towards BL. So there's kiss scenes for this drama. But only kisses la. Not as BL as other Thai BL dramas. Still within subtle IMO. This drama got me into Vachirawit Chiva-aree (Bright). He's the ML of this drama. Look so handsome!! His smile is cute too! Not to forget how much i love the OST of this drama that I repeat play dunno for how long. HAHAHAHA. Only watch if you are ok watching 2 guys kissing each other ok. If not then don't watch la.

Last one comes from the recommendation of my gay friend and online friend, Furi. LOLOLOL. According to gay friend, this drama felt more real to RL compared to 2gether. Don't ask me if it's true or not coz I'm not gay. So I can't really answer. It's called I Told Sunset About You (ITSAY). Even the name also already so "jiwang" right? HAHAHAHA.

This one definitely not my kind of drama. But no doubt it's a good drama. The whole lighting and mood is reallyyyyy good! Not to mention their acting. Like wahseh. Can cry so deep ah? And tbh some scenes made me cry so deep too. Again, you watch then u know. HAHAHAHA. I won't spoil anything la. Btw this one is MORE BL compared to 2gether. So definitely make sure you are ok with deep kisses and such then watch. If not then it's better to skip. Didn't watch S2 so I have nothing to say for that one. I heard S2 resolves on cheating. Since I can't handle cheating, so I don't feel like I want to watch it. LOLOLOL.

Anyway this drama also have really really good OST. Do check out "Skyline" and "Can't Translate". So much feels and definitely addictive!

As there's no other BL drama that captures my attention for the time being, somehow I came across BL novel enthusiasts online as I order my 2ha Minidoll. That's how I became a BL novel reader too now. Thank You Furi and Nana LOLOLOL (Udah kaya SKSD ya panggil nama pendek).

Haikyuu!!

Loves watching sports anime? Then give Haikyuu!! (ハイキュー!!) a try! It's the 3rd sport's related anime that I watched and enjoyed! The first was of course Kuroko's Basketball (Kuroko No Basuke - 黒子のバスケ) that talks about basketball, followed by Free! which is a swimming related anime and now we were given a new gem that have to do with volleyball!

Honestly I have zero interest in sports. So seriously two hands down to Japan for making awesome animes that managed to incite a tiny sparks in me to see sports in a new light!

I love how this anime managed to send chills down my spine at times! Plus there's lots of interesting characters! Each one are loveable in its own way~~ Oh and also...they have really nice quote which I LOVEEEEE~

"No matter how formidable and unbeatable your opponent, you'll never win if you don't believe you can".

"Even if we're not confident that we'll win, even if others tell us we don't stand a chance, we must never tell ourselves that".

I think these two quote applies to RL as well. Especially to everyone who are struggling to achieve something in life! Hehehe...

On a side note, Haikyuu!! Season 2 is out!!! -adds tears of joy here- Watched the first episode and it's awesome as usual! Definitely I'm looking forward for more episodes to come~

Ao Haru Ride

Mad HAPPY when I saw this anime on the list of new anime released! Been reading this manga and fell in love with it right away. So definitely am gonna watch the anime too! You guys should check this manga out if you happen to love reading shoujo manga! Romance genre! *winks*

The story revolves around Futaba Yoshioka and Tanaka Ko who likes each other. But due to some misunderstanding, the relationship kinda ended as the guys transfer school. (Epic timing!) Apparently 3 years later they meet again and that's how their love adventure begins!

Seriously I'm really happy with the art. Both anime and manga. It's good! Not to mention that my beloved HoneyWorks contributes for the opening song. The insert song during the "confession" scene and the ending song itself are good too! What more can you ask for?

Yes...the insert song for this scene is lovely!

Other than the storyline, art and songs, I also love the voice of Tanaka Ko! To which I found out that the seiyuu was Yuuki Kaji. The same seiyuu who voiced for Noragami's Yukine, Final Fantasy XIII's Hope, Diabolik Lovers' Kanato and more! For more chara he have voiced, click HERE!

Although it seems like he voiced quite alot clingy, mama boys type of chara, I am really liking his voice in Ao Hara Ride! I just love that deep low voice of his. Especially when he said "baka" to Futaba. Sweet! HAHAHA...it's perfect! Definitely gonna keep an ear on his voice and add him to the list of my fav seiyuus!

I also love this gesture of his in the anime. Somehow it's sweet to see him to be still doing something that he used to do. It almost feel like the old him was here but wasn't. You'll understand as you watch the anime or read the manga. Seriously this anime managed to make my heart race...*coughs

Am really hoping that you guys will give this anime and manga a try. It's one of Sakisaka Io's sensei best work I've read. Do buy the ori DVD or manga when it's available in your country. If there's none then you can read the manga HERE.

Seriously I'm looking forward for epi 2 and so on! Other than that I still have Hunter x Hunter, Sword Art Online 2, Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun, Akame Ga Kill, Sailor Moon Crystal, FREE! Eternal Summer, One Piece, Naruto Shippuuden, Glass Slip, Soredemo Sekai Wa Utsukushii and Fairy Tail to follow. Kinda sad that No Game No Life has ended...Hopefully there's a second season. *fingers crossed

Soredemo Sekai wa Utsukushii

Yesterday I was bored and too tired to watch long duration videos like Running Man. And so I checked on the anime list I had but haven't watch. Came across this interesting anime called "Soredemo Sekai wa Utsukushii" (それでも世界は美しい Still The World is Beautiful).

Hooked right off and I ended up watching the whole 4 episodes! (Which ended at 2 in the morning! HAHAHA! Epi 4 is the latest so far...) This is highly recommended to everyone who loves adventure, shoujo genre, "magic" (ability to call the rain is magic, yes?), romance, shota boys, fantasy and comedy (you'll see why I call this anime a comedy. Lots of cutesy images ok!).

So yesh...this anime started off with the main chara, Nike (Rain Kingdom 4th princess) traveled to Sun Kingdom to marry King Livius (I love the name!). Midway of the first episode they'll show how the Sun Kingdom requested Rain Kingdom to marry off one of the princess for the country to remain autonomous. The typical life of a princess you'll see in many movies...marry off somewhere in order for their country not be taken or something liddat.

Basically all four decided to do jan-ken-pon (rock, scissor and paper) to decide who get chosen to marry the Sun Kingdom's king. And of course as expected our main female lead got chosen as she lose on the jan ken pon game!

Cut the scenes here and there (to make sure I didn't spoil too much of the story), our main female lead has this "magical" power to call upon the rain. This power is used twice till epi 4. You can expect to see her singing to summon the rain! No chanting but singing! Hell yeah! We'll see if she can summon other than rain or not...

To my surprise, the king she is getting married to is a lil boy! HA! At first I was expecting guy in their teenage years...Say 18? It seems like I was way off since it was way younger than my expectation. Hahaha. But nevermind! He reminds me much of Kuroshitsuji's Ciel Phantomhive! Looking at how at their young age are blessed with the capabilities to ran the family "business". Not to forget that cold exterior they have that's like a tsundere character...LOLOLOL!

Definitely this Sun Kingdom's King Livius is the 2nd shota character which able to break my barrier of saying no to shota characters. The first is of course Ciel! Japan seriously have the power to make any characters favourable to the watchers! First they make me able to like ojisan (uncle) characters and now they make me to fall for shota boys!! Nao I feel like a full fledged pedobear!

The Butler (?) Neil

When I first heard Neil talking, I was haunted by dejavu. His voice is soooo familiar to which later I confirmed that the seiyuu is Tomokazu Sugita. The seiyuu of my beloved Gintama's Gin-san!!! Interesting...hahaha!

Hunter x Hunter

Honestly I almost gave up on watching this remake version of Hunter x Hunter. Coz when I knew about it, there's like about 60+ episodes already out. So yeah...kinda lazy to catch up with it. Thankfully a friend of mine, Ieu Ieu insisted that I should definitely watch it. (To which I found out later that I am totally hooked up to it and managed to catch up to the latest episodes in no time. Haha...I think it's episodes 75 nao! *winks*)

Talking bout this anime, I've watched the old version long long ago. But at that time I watched it from TV. So I can't really catch up to every episodes coz of things like family members suddenly asking to go out together, forgot the airing time, having some other activities which requires one to leave the TV and bla bla bla.

Can say it's the same case with Inuyasha and Samurai X. Though I'm watching Samurai X anime too right after I'm done watching the live version. Am at around episode 30.

Ok...back to Hunter x Hunter...

The first few episodes were boring...most probably the memories of the scenes from that episodes were still so clear to me. But the episodes onwards are good! Especially starting from when Hisoka first appeared. LOL!

Kurapika, Gon, Leorio, Killua

Would not say much bout this anime coz again I don't want to show much spoiler. But definitely I would love to recommend you all (if you love animes) to watch this one. Storyline wise was good until nao. Not much flashback like Naruto case...Except for about 2 episodes in which "konon" Gon was telling his Aunt Mito azbout what he experienced during the Hunter Exam...LOL. Can say it's a cheat coz it's a repeat of the previous episodes...just have to add Aunt Mito holding a letter and BAM! Flashbacks! Haha.

But other than that, this anime sure is interesting in it's own way. I thought that "Nen" was interesting in a way too. Hehe...Basically in this anime you have Gon who entered the Hunter Exam in order to find out what's so good about being a Hunter and at the same time strives to look for his dad (Ging), then you have Killua who is the son of a famous assassin who wants to be normal and searching for things that he would like to make as his goals in life, from there you have Kurapika who is the last remaining member of the Kurta Clan who wishes to avenge his clan and to collect all the scarlet eyes, last but not least there's Leorio who entered the Hunter Exam in order to use the financial benefits of a hunter to join medical school.

Personally I took a liking of the 3 characters: Gon, Killua and Kurapika. Leorio characters just seems dull and bland compared to the other characters...Even when compared to Hisoka...Somehow I set my eyes on him ever since he first appeared in the first few episodes...hehe.

One thing I liked about him is how hard it is to determine whether he's a good guy or a bad guy. Even till nao I still can't find out. Hopefully the writer won't kill him just like how Naruto writer killed Ero Sennin. *sobs*

And oh!!! Somewhere later in the story, it is shown that Hisoka have a nice body! *coughs* *coughs* And if you watched much further, you can see him with his hair let down too~ (It reminds me of Iori from King of Fighters)

Was planning to flood this page filled with Killua too (my other bias). But oh well...guess alot other people love Killua as much as I do too...So I came into a conclusion that I should post Hisoka pictures instead since he's more on the odd side. (Recently am so into weird characters...something about them just feels so alluring...*coughs*)

Wondered why the writer makes him into this hairstyle when it was all good even before styling...hahaha. Though of course I can see that the hairstyle suits him in a way. I mean...too handsome then the character feels normal and too predictable...no? Ah...nvm...I'm just going wild in thoughts on unnecessary stuff. Don't really fancy clown or joker so much...but Hisoka's definitely an exception. Everything about him is just interesting~

Ok...enough of me talking bout Hisoka. Am looking forward to the next episodes...Hopefully it won't end so soon. Perhaps another hundreds of episodes would suffice...Even better if it's as long as One Piece. Though I dunno how the writer gonna continue with the story.

Heard from a friend of mine who read the manga that the writer stopped writing halfway. I think that's a bad news for me since I've just started to get really addicted to Hunter x Hunter. Really hope that the writer will continue writing ASAP. Am praying that he'll get all the idea he'll need to continue the story...Coz I think the characters and storyline have potential to improve...so yeah...

Anyway, am looking forward to the anime film: Hunter x Hunter Phantom Rouge...It was out on January...so most prob it'll be in DVD form somewhere around June? So excited can!! Last but not least, here's the preview on the anime film.
